Eric Lefkofsky is a native of Michigan. His mom worked as a school teacher and his father was an engineer. For years Lefkofsky modeled their incredible work ethic. He would eventually end up at the University of Michigan where he would graduate with honors. Shortly after he earned another degree from University of Michigan Law School. This education would set the stage for Lefkofsky as he became an entrepreneur.
Lefkofsky has built several businesses during his career. He started with a long time friend Brad Keywell. The two created Brandon Apparel a clothing company in Wisconsin. From there Eric Lefkofksy has been involved with creating several companies including InnerWorkings, Echo Global Logistics and MediaBank. All of these companies were successful and served as a stepping stone for the next business.
In 2007 Eric Lefkofsky was responsible for starting a website called thepoint.com. This website would soon become known by the name Groupon. Groupon has been extremely successful during its existence. Forbes magazine reports it is the fastest growing company in history. Groupon was wildly successful generating billions of dollars. Lefkofksy even received an offer from Google to buy the company. The offer was more than six billion dollars.
Today Eric Lefkofsky is focused on is work with Tempus. He loves the idea of brining technology into the medical world. Currently the company works to organize the data collection concerning cancer research. Lefkofsky believes this will expand to other areas of the health world in time.
